Week 23

June 1st – 8th

  • Seed Parsley, Snap Beans, Carrots, Summer Squash, Leaf Lettuce, and Bib Lettuce.

  • Seed Corn, Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower, Pumpkins, and Winter Squash for Autumn Harvest.

  • Transplant Tomatoes.

  • Plant a Late Crop of Irish Potatoes.

Week 24

June 9th – 15th

Saturday, June 14th – Flag Day

Sunday, June 15th – Father’s Day

  • Seed Sweet Corn, Beets, and Winter Squash.

  • Seed Basil as a Tomato Companion.

  • Plant Celery.

  • Mulch Garden to Conserve Moisture.

  • Monitor for Garden Pests / Begin Bagworm Control.

  • Summer Prune Apples and Peaches.

Week 25

June 16th – 22nd

Friday, June 20th – Summer Equinox & West Virginia Day!

  • Seed or Transplant Gourds.

  • Transplant Thyme and Peppers.

  • Side-Dress Sweet Corn with Nitrogen.

  • Prune Spring-Flowering Shrubs.

  • Pinch Back Garden Mums.

  • Control Cabbage Worms.

  • Turn Compost.

Week 26

June 23rd – June 29th

  • Seed Dill, Cantaloupes, Peppers, Savory, and Brussels Sprouts.

  • Transplant Late Tomatoes and Peppers.

  • End Asparagus Harvest.

  • Harvest Beet Greens.

  • Treat Lawn for White Grubs.

  • Prune Pine Trees.

  • Add Non-Seed-Bearing Weeds to Compost

Week 27

June 30th

  • Seed Half-Runner and Pole Beans.

  • Harvest Summer Squash Frequently.
