Crock-Pot Apple Butter

This week we're making apple butter here at Bob's, but maybe you want to try your hand at apple butter.  Here is a fool-proof recipe for crock-pot apple butter.  Below is a video of me making it too.  However, I doubled the recipe to better fit the capacity of my crock-pot.  I also cut back on the sugar a bit too because I was using sweetened applesauce to start with.

 Ingredients
  • 1 (48 once) Jar, Applesauce (store bought or homemade)
  • 2 1/2 Cups, Sugar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon, Apple Pie Spice
  • 1/4 Teaspoon, Nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon, Cinnamon
  • 2 Ounces, Red-Hot Candies

Preparation
  1. Combine ingredients in crock-pot.
  2. Cook on high about 12-18 hours. Time will vary depending on the thickness of the applesauce.
  3. Cook until it turns dark brown and thickens.
  4. It can be stored in the refrigerator or canned in a water bath for 20 minutes.
